Adventurous Leila

Hello everyone we were camped on one of our favorite lakes in Interlochen for two weeks. This lake is our favorite because of the beautiful sunsets, the warm water, and the fact that it’s pretty secluded. The spot is very nice. It has some clearing for solar, lots of space to unpack for a couple weeks, and it’s right next to the water so you can have tons of water days like us. We’ve come to this spot about three times and every time we go it’s even more amazing so I definitely recommend checking it out one day.

When we got to the spot we set up camp and ate dinner while watching the beautiful sunset.

When I got up in the morning I made coffee, did all my chores, and finished my schoolwork for the day so I could blow up the paddle boards and have a water day. I think me and my family all had a good day chilling by the water, fishing, swimming, tanning, paddle boarding over to all the little islands and exploring them, and doing tons more. After hours in the water we all hung out in the RV and played games while watching the sunset which is my new favorite thing to do. When the sunset was over we made some dinner then headed to bed to get some rest.

The next day we got ready for the day and drove into town to go to the farmers market which to our surprise was moved to the following day. Since we were already in town and were going to find something yummy to eat for lunch at the farmers market we just went over to a restaurant. The restaurant was pretty cool because it had outdoor games you could play while you waited for your food and that’s exactly what we did lol. We played a couple intense games of corn hole and every time dad won. After we ate and played the outdoor games we went over to the mall to find dad some new shoes since his were getting pretty worn out. By the time we made it home the sunset was starting so of course we had to sit by the water and watch it before dinner.

When we got up in the morning we ate and did all the things we needed to do to be out the door in time for the actual farmers market lol. When we got to the market it was packed and we spent about an hour shopping for food and other goodies we like. I ended up getting a really cute bracelet. After the farmers market we went over to the grocery store to get the rest of the stuff the market didn’t have then headed back home. After we put everything away we all went for a nice little walk which was so peaceful and calming. We listened to the birds chirp, the wind move around the trees’ leaves, and we looked out at the beautiful lake. We walked for a little while and when we got to the RV we had an early dinner and played card games while watching another sunset that we love.

The following morning I got up and made my family’s favorite breakfast, homemade biscuits and gravy. After an hour or so of baking yummy treats and breakfast I worked on schoolwork, catching my blog up to date, chores, and some other stuff before going down to the lake and reading my Kindle while tanning. I spent a couple hours down by the water just hanging out, fishing, swimming, tanning, reading, and of course my favorite paddle boarding. Later in the day me and my family watched the sunset and played card games before dinner.

In the afternoon my family and I went into town to do some laundry which takes the whole day. We spent a couple hours swapping loads and folding laundry but we did get some pastries and coffee from the cafe next door. By the time we got back to the RV it was almost dinner time so we ended up doing a movie night with popcorn.

The next two days I did lots of stuff like paddle boarding, swimming, schoolwork, blogs, photography, family time, card games, and even helping clean up a campsite that seemed abandoned with tons of trash scattered everywhere. We didn’t want to mess with it originally because we didn’t know if the people were coming back but some fishermen said that it had been there for about two weeks with no one at it so we cleaned it up a little. We don’t want the wonderful site we love so much to get shut down.

The next day my parents wanted to do a paddle board date so we made a yummy charcuterie board and sent them out onto the lake. I took a bunch of different photos and videos of them that turned out super cute and my mom ended up posting all about their cute little date on the water. After they spent an hour or two on the water they came back and we got ready to go to a good Mexican restaurant that was recommended to us by some locals, and if we get recommendations on Mexican food we can never decline. When we got to the restaurant we had some super good Mexican food and when we say it’s good it has to be good because we’re spoiled when it comes to Mexican food lol. After our amazing meal we went to a park to fill up our water jugs then made our way back home. When we got home it was about to be dark so we ate dinner and got some rest.

The next three days were pretty simple chill days just hanging out by the water and playing games but one thing that was different was mom’s idea to go get a surprise after Landon was already asleep. I don’t think he minded at all since the surprise was Wendy’s ice cream and fries lol. I think we still had a good couple of days even if they were pretty chill. I think sometimes people just need to stop and appreciate the small things in life we take for granted, because when it’s the slow boring days I don’t really write about, it’s actually my favorite days because I get to just chill and hang out with my family.

When we got up in the morning we packed up lunch, life jackets, the paddle boards, and some other things then headed to a spring that flows into Lake Michigan. When we got to the spring we had to pay for a couple extra life jackets while dad drove the car over to Lake Michigan and rode back on a shuttle then we started our journey along the springs. After what felt like forever of paddling we made it to a cool little rope swing so of course we had to stop and try it out. I don’t really recommend swinging into a very shallow spring because your ankles and knees get shockwaves sent up them when you land but it was still very fun lol. While we were at the swing we ate some lunch and people watched for a little bit. While we were people watching we saw this lady go flying off the swing and land right on a tree root. Luckily she was completely fine just a little embarrassed and I don’t blame her I would be too. After that crazy landing we started to paddle again and we saw two elderly ladies flip their canoe and watched it go flying into the mud and sink a couple inches into it. As soon as we saw that happen we paddled over to them to see if they were ok and helped them get all their stuff out of the water and the canoe out of the mud. They were fine and were actually cracking up so of course we had to too because you don’t get to see that every day lol. After our amazing experiences at the swing we paddled for another hour or so before finally making it to Lake Michigan. When we got to the lake we packed up all of our stuff into the car and headed back over to the place we rented the life jackets from to drop them off. When we got home we were all super tired but we pushed it off because we had to get everything ready for our drive in the morning.

In the morning we packed up the rest of our stuff then headed to our next spot.

I think we had an amazing time here at one of our favorite spots doing the stuff we love. I definitely recommend coming to this spot one day because it’s so breathtaking.
