Breaux Bridge – Louisiana | Crawfish Capital, Cajun Culture & Historic Downtown

January 26, 2025 through February 2, 2025

Hello everyone! We were at a campground in Louisiana for a week. The campground had pit toilets, full hook ups, a playground, and it’s right on a river. Before we got to this spot, we had super long drives and three in-between stops.

Our first two days there, I wasn’t feeling the best, so we stayed home and I rested. My family did tons of stuff like fishing, riding bikes, meeting our neighbors, playing card games, and tons more! Since I wasn’t feeling good, I spent most of my day reading and ended up knocking out a whole book, lol.

The following morning, I still wasn’t feeling all the way myself, so I didn’t do too much active stuff. Sometime in the afternoon, our friends arrived. After they got all set up, Landon and I hung out with their two little girls at the park. Their girls loved to play all sorts of games, and by the time they were kind of tired of playing, it was dinner time. We decided on an authentic Southern restaurant. We got tons of yummy food before heading back home to get some much needed rest.

The next day, my family and our friends got ready to go to a swamp tour! When we arrived we got all signed in and situated on the boat before the tour started. The tour guide was a fun guy as he would tell us tons of funny jokes and facts. We spent about 30 minutes to an hour getting to see tons of gators, turtles, and birds. We also got to learn tons of new facts about the swamp and all the wildlife that lives there. After our really fun tour through the surprisingly pretty swamp we headed into town to do errands. By the time we got home it was already dinner time so we ate and hung out for a little longer before bed.

The next morning, we got up, got ready, and then drove about an hour away to go to the zoo with our friends. The zoo was amazing there was practically no one there, so we had the whole place to ourselves! The littles had a blast looking at all the cool animals. I really liked it too the animals were all so cute, and I got to take tons of photos. At that zoo they let the peacocks roam free, so you’d be walking and a peacock would pop out of the bushes right in front of you, lol. After a couple of hours at the zoo, we found a place to eat before heading back home. To our surprise, one of our bus friends was parked right next to us when we arrived!

The next morning, all of us and our friends headed into town and went to a really cool restaurant. The restaurant was awesome it had a big area cleared for line dancing, and they were playing music on a washboard! We got tons of yummy food like pancakes, biscuits, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and these little pastry things that reminded me of Indian flatbread lol. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you want to get a full Southern experience. After a couple of hours there, we walked around the cute little town. While we were there we stopped at a bookstore, and of course, I had to go in and get some books. When we got back home, we all hung out and got ready for our next drive day.

We had an amazing time here, but it’s time to roll out and head to our next spot. I hope you enjoyed my blog, I’ll catch ya in the next one!

And honestly — I think you’re super brave for going into that swamp… way braver than I’d ever be! LOL 😅
The alligator part totally scared me! I swear there was one picture where it looked like an alligator was right next to you in the water… but there’s no way you were that close, right?!
