Dates 12/5/24-12/13/24
Welcome back, We stayed on Playa Tecelote for 9 days where you get to camp right on the beach for free, but the best part was we were there with our friends once again. Our first few days we just hung out with our friends, decorated for Christmas, went for beach walks and played a bunch of games.

Another family we had met in Santispac were staying at a campground near by and invited us to come have a pool day with them. Us and the Mclaughlins (the other family we were camped with) packed up and headed to their RV park. We spent majority of the time in the hot tub as the pool was a bit chilly to us. There also was ping pong and shuffleboard that my friends and I enjoyed. We were starting to get hungry so we picked up some road chicken for everyone. If you’ve never had road chicken I highly recommend you get some. They are these little stands on the side of the road where they grill whole chickens for you. They have specials where you can get two whole cooked chickens, pasta, fresh tortillas and salsa for like $10 usd. Its super delicious and so affordable! After a fun filled day it was time to head home, but I got to ride with my friends and we stopped at Walmart. We checked out their fresh pastries and I learned about the baby Jesus cake. On our drive home we drove through downtown La Paz where it was all decked out for Christmas.

While we were sleeping we were under a wind advisory and when we woke up the whole beach had flooded. The water had come up all the way under everyones’ rigs while we were sleeping. Thankfully it wasn’t very high so we were all safe. That day was super cold and windy so we stayed inside baking and playing games. That evening we headed back into town to walk around and check out the Christmas lights. The lights were amazing and we had a blast taking photos and checking out their annual Christmas market. We got hot chocolate, tacos, churros, elote and more yummy foods before calling it a night and heading home.

Once the weather cleared up we headed over for a beach day at Playa Balandra. Its a beautiful protected beach where they only allow a certain number of people per day. The water is crystal blue and it’s in a cove where you can walk or paddleboard around to explore. We stayed there for hours paddle boarding, played tag and my friends even buried me. Only my head was out of the sand so they put a bucket over me and when people would walk by I would scare them, it was so funny. In the evening we drove down the road to this hike to the top of the mountain to watch sunset and get some cool photos as it overlooks Playa Balandra and Playa Tecelote. We made it down from the hike just as it got dark, so we headed home to have some dinner and play games to end the evening.

The last day there I woke up really excited because I was going Scuba Diving. We headed to Pichilingue where we met up with some friends and my dive master. When we arrived, I set up my tanks and had a briefing on the dive. Then it was time to get in the water and go under the sea (little mermaid voice). I got to see tons of flounders and puffer fish but unfortunately due to all the storms recently the visibility was poor so we didn’t see any turtles or baby sharks that are typically in this area. We collected trash and seen some amazing coral. I had such a great time diving and was so thankful for getting more experience under the water. After a full day at the beach and diving we had to head home to get packed up and the following morning was a drive day.

Bye Bye!
