Dates 11/26/24-12/5/24
Hello everyone, we were in Cerritos for a week. Our site is another boondocking spot right on the gorgeous ocean. Our first day there we set up, ate dinner, then watched the stunning sunset before heading to bed. On day two we cleaned the rv then headed into town to buy some last minute things for Thanksgiving. While we were out we seen one of our friends we met in Santispac, so we invited her to join us for Thanksgiving dinner. Since she didn’t have any plans she was thrilled to have dinner with us.

The next morning I woke up excited as it was Thanksgiving! After I made coffee my mom and I started to make food and clean up the house some. Afterwards, we got ready and texted our family and friends back in the states to wish them a Happy Thanksgiving. Later that day our friends started to show up, Curt with his daughter Mya and our friend GG. The timing was perfect as food was ready so we started to set everything out. We all dug in and totally enjoyed a traditional american Thanksgiving dinner, the food all turned out amazing. Just as we finished eating we were watching the Sunset when I spotted some whales, so of course I had to get the drone out. I spent the rest of the evening picking up and playing with Landon and Mya while the adults enjoyed each others company. It was a lovely evening and such a special way to celebrate Thanksgiving in the Baja.

Friday we decided to have a beach day and met up with some of our other friends down by the surf beach. We rented boogie boards, I had never done it before but my friend Malcom showed me how and he said I was a natural because I caught on super fast. Boogie boarding is so fun but make sure to wear your rash guard because I ended up getting a rash all over my belly. Our beach day was a blast, I had fun boogie boarding, chit chatting and soaking in the sunshine. When the sun was starting to set, Curt and Mya showed up to watch sunset with us then we decided to get dinner together at the beach front restaurant. Our dinner was delicious and Landon loves that him and Mya could run around in the sand while we waited for our food. After dinner we headed home and went straight to bed.

We went into the town of Todos Santos to check it out and met up with our friends Curt and Mya. Since they have a home in Cerritos they are very familiar with the area and showed us around. We went to the park then went over to the beach to release the turtles right before sunset. When we arrived everyone was leaving so we thought we missed the release. We spoke with the owner and he told us if we waited ten minutes we could do a second release. To our surprise he brought the rest of the turtles that hatched that day and let us release them all. It was AMAZING, we probably released 200 baby turtles and the owner even let me wear a glove to carry the last of the turtles that hadn’t made it down to the water. Sadly a huge wave came up and got me soaked. After the unforgettable experience we ended our evening out to dinner where they had delicious tacos and live music.

Since we were so close to Cabo we decided to do a day trip to check it out. We found a cute beach front restaurant where we got some yummy appetizers and people watched. We had a great view of the famous arch in the rock so we took some photos and checked out some of the beach vendors. Since there’s a Costco in Cabo we had to go stock up on some things before making the trek back to the RV. The rest of our time in Cerritos we just enjoyed the beach and whale watching.

Cerritos is definitely more of a touristy spot but we loved all the fun activities and couldn’t get over the whales. If your like us and prefer the local spots rather than the more Americanized restaurants, across the highway is a smaller town called El Pescadero where you can get authentic food for a fraction of the price and support the local economy. We definitely plan to return to this area and spend some more time here, especially because we have many friends who own homes in the area.
