Baja California Sur-Loreto

Dates 11/21/24 -11/25/24

Hello and welcome back! We stayed one night at a spot just outside of Loreto. It was a beautiful spot right on the water where you can watch cruise ships come to port. After arriving we headed to town, ate delicious tacos and yummy Mexican ice cream. When we got back to the RV we were getting settled in and ready for bed when we got a knock on the door by the police. There was a language barrier but from what we could understand they told us it was a party spot and would be very loud, however, they would keep an eye on us for the night and we should leave the following morning. We had planned to stay there for several nights however after the warning and a long night with some of the loudest music we had ever heard we decided to move down the road to another beach spot.

What was supposed to be a 10 minute drive down the road ended up being an hour long drive due to my dad trying to make his own route to avoid a dirt road. The funny thing was that he routed us way out of the way and ended up getting back to the dirt road he tried to avoid. After our adventure we made it to an amazing beach front boondocking spot with an epic palapa where our friends from Santispac came and camped with us.

We headed into town to explore Loreto with our friends. We stopped by the sign to take photos then checked out all the cute local shops. We were all hungry so we found a restaurant, aka someones backyard to have dinner. To our surprise the food was really good and super cheap. They didn’t have menus but told us they were making enchiladas, tacos and tostadas, so we ordered a bunch of each. It was definitely an experience we all will remember and turned out to be such a great evening. After dinner we walked the main strip, checked out more of the shops and the old mission, then ended the evening with fresh crepes before heading home.

The following day we had a chill day at camp hanging out with our friends, we relaxed in the hammock, went on beach walks, and played games. We ended the night with some hide and seek tag while our parents played card games. We had a blast at this fun spot with our friends and will definitely come back next time we’re in Baja. Since we only have a few months in Baja we need to keep heading south.
