Baja California Sur- Santispac

Dates 11/10/24 – 11/24/24

Hello everyone, we stayed at Playa Santispac for 14 spectacular days. Its a dispersed campground right on the amazingly clear water! They have restrooms, a dump, two restaurants and a ton of beach vendors that sell all sorts of homemade things. Some of the sites have palapas and its only $10 per night.

Our first day there we set up our spot then went for a nice little beach walk. After some time on the beach we came back for some dinner and games. The next day we had a beach day. We did tanning, paddle boarding, swimming and enjoyed the sunshine. That evening we went to dinner at the restaurant with another family my mom had been chatting with online. We clicked instantly and spent hours chit chatting until the littles got bored. I decided to take them over to the beach to play and climb trees while the adults finished dinner and hung out.

The next morning my mom and I cleaned and I worked on my blogs. We can’t pass up tamales, so of course when the vendors came by we had to get some. Later that day our friends Dan and Teresa from our last spot showed up to have lunch with us. We spent most of the day catching up with them and planned to go out on a boat tour to a little island where we could snorkel, enjoy a private beach and eat fresh scallops and ceviche. We ended the night with dinner and more family games.

In the morning we got all ready for an explore day. We took the paddle board and kayak out to find the hot springs. We paddled around two coves then we finally spotted the hot springs. We went to get into them however they were either way to hot, not enough water, or were filled with little pinching crabs. Later we found out the best time to go is mid tide and we were there during low tide, the worst time, lol. Our paddle back to camp was definitely more challenging as the wind had picked up, so we were fighting the current the whole way. Finally we made it back and decided to hike over to other hot springs and explore the mangroves. It was an amazing day in the sun exploring the beautiful area.

We had several beach days while there but some of my favorite days were spent hanging with our friends we met. My mom had joined a group on facebook for full time families headed to the Baja where she had been chatting with several families. Many of them ended up meeting up while we were at Santispac. We sang karaoke at the restaurant together, had potlucks, made homemade pizzas, snorkeled, had game nights, built a fort and of course ended some evenings around the fire. Santipac was one of our favorite spots in Baja and we loved the community we made while staying there. I highly suggest going to Playa Santispac while in Baja!
