Baja California-Puertecitos

Welcome back, we stayed in Puertecitos, Mexico for three days. To get here we stayed at two in between spots. The first stop was just outside of Yuma where we arrived just after sunset, so we made some dinner and went to bed. The spot was just a boondocking spot in the middle of the desert next to a labyrinth. It was only about 30-45 minutes to the border, so we got up and on the road. We weren’t sure what to expect crossing the border, but to our surprise it was very smooth and easy. They asked for a few documents, had us start the Jeep, then peaked inside the RV but when Blue barked at them they told us we were all set. We pulled up, parked and walked into the immigration office to get our FMM documents then were back on the road.

Our second overnight spot was in San Felipe, Mexico. It was a pretty nice boondocking spot with gorgeous views of the water but unfortunately wasn’t close enough for us to enjoy the beach.

When we finally made it to Puertecitos we were taken back by the stunning views. Our spot is an amazing boondocking site right on the ocean. We got all settled in and went out to feel the water. We seen something off in the distance so I pulled my drone out and videoed some sea lions swimming around. Then had the rest of the day to play games, legos, read and hangout by the water.

The next morning I made coffee and read the Bible. We then went to check out the town but turned out they only have two small markets and a hotdog stand. The markets were really small, one even had cute cats inside that would rub against you and wanted you to pet them. We went home and Landon and I went swimming in the tide pools and ocean. After the sunset we played Uno, Sorry and Mapquest until dinner time.

We headed back to the market the next day to get some water and get on Wi-Fi to check in with family, and to call Grandpa Grappy to wish him a happy birthday. As we were there we met a nice man named Kurt and his daughter Mya. We ended up hanging out with them in front of the market for hours and invited him over for dinner the following day. However he ended up stopping by to let us know his truck was fixed so he was headed home to Todos Santos, but to definitely reach out when we’re down that way.

We fully enjoyed our time on the water in Puertecitos but decided to get back on the road to check out another area. See you soon!
