We made it to the U.P.! Our spot is gorgeous right on the ponds, with perfect solar and lots of space. We stayed for almost two weeks. Our first three days there we basically just did blogs, school, clean and went to town for chores. The following morning another full time family we met when we were leaving our last spot came to meet up with us. They are a lovely family of 6 with two dogs. Their four kids are all under the age of six and their two golden retrievers were named Sedona and Ebbanizer. We spent many days in their company, playing with the kids, fishing, making pottery and sharing lots of yummy meals.

They had never been to Mackinac Island yet, so while they did that we decided it would be a good day to go to Castle Rock for a short hike and to see the view from the top. We had to climb up what felt like a ton of stairs and thatโs when we realized we are way out of shape and have not hiked enough this summer. At the top the view was magnificent of Lake Huron and gorgeous green trees for as far as you could see. Once we completed the short hike they gave us a sticker to show we did it. By the time we got back to camp our friends were getting back as well. They had a bunch of sour dough pancakes, so we made a breakfast feast for dinner just as our other friends the Leonardโs arrived to camp.

Since it was leading up to Skoolie U.P. week we had several families coming to camp with us. Once everyone arrived there was 14 children all together. We had a few really fun days together paddle boarding, swimming, playing games and catching up with friends before it was time to head to Skoolie U.P.. Unfortunately, our new friends we met there werenโt able to attend Skoolie U.P. but the rest of us were all caravanning over. Stay tuned for my next blog where I spill all the tea about Skoolie U.P.!
