Greetings everyone, We stayed at Horseshoe Lake State Park for a week. The spot is nice, it was basically designated boondocking spots that had picnic tables, fire rings and a playground. The lake was a short drive from the campsites but the best part was we could see the St. Louis Arch from our RV windows.

The first couple of days we just hung out at home, did school work, cleaned the RV, road bikes and went to the playground. After a few days my parents said to get ready because we were headed to a surprise! After a short drive we pulled up to a cute little farm, I think you could practically guess what was at the farm. Cows, chickens, pigs, goats, and the most adorable miniature ponies. They also had all sorts of obstacle courses, playground, toys and even tricycles for the littles to ride on. When we were finished petting the animals and playing, we took a 2 mile hike around the farm. The hike was very pretty, there were bright flowers blooming everywhere and the trees were all varieties of luscious greens while walking across small bridges and alongside the creek. It was a great outing and as always it feels good to support local farmers.

In the morning we had an early wake up call because my dad was flying back to Arizona for his friend’s surprise 40th birthday party. While he was gone my mom spoiled us with some Chick-Fil-A and a splash pad but to our surprise when we got to the splash pad it was off. Apparently the mid west isn’t like back home and the splash pads don’t turn on until memorial weekend. Luckily right next to the splash pad was a big playground, so even though it was hot we spent the day playing there.
The next day was going to be another warm one so my mom got us guest passes for the YMCA. When we got in there was a huge pool, hot tub, lazy river and even a whirl pool. We hung out there for a few hours so I made friends with a few kids that were my age while mom and Landon played. Around lunch time we ordered pizza and had it delivered there for us to have a little picnic, it was soooo good with the perfect amount of cheese and pepperoni! We closed down the YMCA, I guess time flies when your having fun.

When we woke up the following morning my dad was back! He got home in the middle of the night so after sleeping in a bit we wanted to have one last explore day before heading to our next location. We tried to have a river day but when we got to the spot it ended up having trash everywhere and so many bugs that we decided to try and find something else. My mom found another area that had a historical bridge you could walk over the Mississippi River. It was really cool and we tried finding the boarder line so we could stand in two states at once but unfortunately it wasn’t clearly marked. Lastly we ended the day with a Trader Joe’s run then went home to get drive ready since the following morning we were headed out.
