Hi, we made it to Lake of the Ozarks state park campground where we stayed 4 nights to ride out the storms, but luckily it hardly even hit this area. The campground was nice, we stayed in the lower section that was right on the water. The sites were a bit tight and not very level but we made do. They had nice hot showers, drinking water and a playground right by us. They have full hookups but we chose the sites without hookups since we have adequate solar.

During our stay Landon and I were thrilled because there was a playground and tons of kids to hangout with. We pretty much spent the entire time there at the playground, however one day we went over to this public beach area. When we arrived we realized they were doing a triathlon there and we were just in time to watch them come over the finish line. Since it was a big event they had food trucks, pop up bars and outdoor games. It was a really cool experience to watch and made my dad want to do one.

When our stay came to an end we did a very short 30 minute drive day over to the elks lodge right by Lake of the Ozarks. They had a huge parking lot that overlooked the lake with hookups, and since it was hot we decided to hookup and run our AC. The large lot was perfect for Landon to ride his bike as the main lot was separate. There was a laundromat and restaurant right next door so we decided to get our laundry done.

We woke up, got ready and hopped in the car to go do our new hobby, thrifting! We went to multiple shops but most of them were a bust. The last shop we went to was huge and they had so many great options. I feel like we were in there for hours and found some really great finds. I got two new summer dresses that are so cute. While we were there a hail storm hit and was pounding against the roof. We decided to hunker down there and wait out the storm. Luckily it passed quickly so we decided to head home and check on Blue.

The following day it was boiling hot, like mid 80’s 😉, so my parents found this really cool restaurant that had a swimming pool over looking lake of the Ozarks. It was called Dog Day’s bar and grill. There was two swimming pools, one of them were all ages and the second one was for 21+ since it had a swim up bar. We spent most of the day swimming in the pool and having yummy drinks and eating loaded nachos. Landon brought his cars so I played with him for awhile launching cars into the pool. It was a lot of fun and the perfect way to spend a hot summer day.

Mother’s Day weekend was approaching, we had planned to leave the RV at the elks lodge and take the Jeep on a road trip to spend the weekend in Kansas City. Stay tuned to hear all about it in my next blog.
