Florida-Lake Okeechobee & Cocoa Beach

We stayed at Dupuis campground for 5 days over Christmas. Its a nice free campground that has hot showers, dump station, water and some good solar sites. The day we got there was Christmas Eve, so after getting livable we started getting into the Christmas Spirit by setting up our tiny tree, stockings and decorations. We decided to go out for some chinese food for our Christmas eve dinner, it was so yummy. After dinner we headed home to watch Christmas movies before heading to bed.

Christmas morning I woke up to Landon super excited yelling “Sissy the stockings are full, Santa came!” We had a relaxing morning opening up lots of presents, our stockings and baking a yummy pumpkin roll. Sadly we went outside to face-time family and upon our return we realized the dog ate the entire pumpkin roll because I had it laying out to cool. That evening we went and picked up hot cocoa and went to check out Christmas lights. We went to this huge mansion that they let you walk around and look at all their decorations, on our way home we stopped by a life size manger. Christmas looks a little different along our travels but it was nice to have a slow Christmas with just the four of us.

The rest of our time there we mostly checked out the surrounding area and the layout of the campground, as it was the place we would be hosting our first full-time family event.

From there we went to a boondocking spot near Cocoa Beach because my mom’s best friend and her family were vacationing there. Our spot was basically just a big grassy field with picnic tables and a pit toilet. There were lots of trails all around the area so we enjoyed riding bikes and searching for alligators. Once Tracy was in town we headed over to her hotel to hangout. The hotel they stayed at was nice, right on the beach with a pool, hot tub, snack bar and basketball courts. When we arrived we went straight down to the beach, us kids swam and played on the beach for hours. We all worked up an appetite so we went to coconuts and had some dinner before heading back to the RV.

The following day was New Years Eve so we packed up and headed back over to their hotel to hangout for the day. It was a little overcast so instead of the beach we decided to spend the day at the pool and hot tub. After hours of swimming me and the boys went to the basketball court and played basketball with other kids that were staying there. Since it was a late night we ordered pizza and hungout with all Tracy’s family.

Our last day with Tracy we walked down to the beach to watch a rocket launch. It was super cool to watch and it was so loud it raddled the ground. We really enjoyed spending so much quality time with her and her family while they were on vacation but were sad when it was time for them to head home.

Stay tuned for my next blog where I tell you all about our exciting event!
