Hello everyone, we’re in Robbinsville North Carolina at one of our favorite spots on Lake Santeetlah. We stayed here about two years ago with Tom and Delmara and it brings back so many fun memories. There’s a bunch of sites right along the road but the one we always stay in is tucked away from the road with its own personal entrance to the lake. It’s in a cove so we can paddle around on the paddle board without having to worry about boats or the current. It has a large grassy area for us to play and a nice spot for fishing.

Our first two days here it was perfect lake weather so we paddle boarded, fished and played in the water. I also did a bunch of school and studied for my scuba test a ton! My Good and The Beautiful Language arts book aligned perfectly because I’m currently learning about the Cherokee tribe and how they lived here in the Smoky mountains. We even went to the town Cherokee to explore the village and and got a buzzin funnel cake. Since the town was about an hour from the rv we listened to an audiobook about Harriet Tubman. Then came home and watched the movie Harriet which I highly recommend, it’s on Netflix and rated top 10.

The next morning we made crepes for breakfast, they were the best I ever had in my life. After breakfast we headed out to the Cherohala Skyway to check out the views and hike around. On our hike we came across an old grave and got to learn some history about their death at the top of the mountain. The views were amazing because we were over a mile in the air. Now that it’s daylight savings we lose an hour of sunlight in the evenings so we end up cutting the evenings short and doing lots of movie nights.

Another day we headed to Bryson city to go do laundry and check out the town. On our way there we ended up having some car troubles so we stopped by an advanced auto shop so my dad could figure out what was going on. Turns out it was just a super dead battery and he had it fixed in no time. By this time we were all getting pretty hungry so we stopped at a Mexican food restaurant to get a bite to eat. Finally we got to the laundromat, after starting the laundry we walked around the cute town. They had it decked out with Christmas lights and cute Christmas decorations. We went to a bunch of shops before having to go back and finish our laundry.

The next few days were cold and gloomy so I did more school work and after probably 30 hours of studying about scuba I passed my written test with a 98%. Now I’m ready to do my open water in Key Largo in order to officially be a certified scuba diver. Since it was cold my mom did a lot of baking and spring cleaning. Our vacuum stopped working so she wanted to go to Home Depot and buy a new one but the closet Home Depot was an hour and a half away. On our drive there we had to take the tail of the dragon, it’s an 11 mile stretch that has 318 curves. After my mom got her new vacuum we spent the rest of the day shopping and I got a few new bathing suits, free popcorn and a pig ear for my baby Blue dog. After the long drive home we were all exhausted and crashed out.
Our last few days here we finished spring cleaning, did all our chores and went grocery shopping for Friendsgiving. We love this spot and have even more fun memories here now but it’s time to leave and go meet up with our family in South Carolina.
