North Carolina Part Two

We stayed in Troy, North Carolina along the Badin river for 8 nights. Our drive there was insane because the rode was so jacked up, it was 11 miles on a dirt road with lots of washboard. When we finally got to the spot we wanted, the road was really washed out and we weren’t sure we would be able to get the RV over the huge ruts. Luckily my dad is a great driver and ended up making it over even through we did scrape a bit. I think everyone that saw us up there thought we were insane because some regular vehicles were even afraid to drive up.

Since we were right by the river we spent the whole day by the water so I could try out my new paddle board. Landon and my dad fished while my mom helped me work on school. Once I was done with school we blew up the paddle board and I finally got to try it out. We all took turns on the paddle board and were so happy with our decision to get it because it was much easier to use than our kayaks. Once the sun was setting we went back to the RV to have dinner and watch the Chosen together.

Throughout the week it was raining and cold so we spent most of our time catching up on school, chores and all that fun stuff. On Sunday there was finally a break in the rain so we went to a small farmers market where I got some cute crock charms. One of the vendors was a sword fighting school so they had all kinds of fun play swords and archery for the kids. We met some other kids there and all had so much fun having a sword fight. Next we headed to a cute little local church to have their annual chicken and dumplings night. It was delicious and I met a girl my age that I got to hangout with the whole time. At the end of the evening her dad came over and introduced himself and turns out he was the pastor of the church.

The following day we had to go into town to run some errands so we stopped for lunch to have some delicious southern food.  It was so good, I got chicken and dumplings again, and we all shared fried pickles and pretty much every side they had. After lunch we went to pick up my dads new bike then took it to a local park to try it out. While he was riding around Landon and I played on the playground. It was starting to get late and we still needed to go grocery shopping and had about an hour drive back, so we headed out.

Our 8 days seemed to fly by and it was already time to get packed up and get back on the road.
