Hello everyone, welcome back! We spent four days at Bell Fourche, South Dakota, staying at a boondocking lake spot. It wasn’t anything extravagant, but it was peaceful. The spot had pit toilets, a fire pit, picnic tables, and it was right on the water, so the views were lovely. The simplicity of it all made for a relaxing stay, even without the usual amenities.

As we arrived, it was almost dark, so we quickly set up camp and made dinner. We were able to watch a beautiful sunset while playing card games, which felt like the perfect way to wind down after a long travel day. After the sunset, we called it a night as it was time to get some rest.
The following day, we went into town to run some errands. We stopped at the grocery store, Walmart, and did laundry. We also got pizza for lunch, filled up our drinking and tank water, topped off the gas, and refilled the propane tanks. It was a busy day of getting everything done, but we made it fun by taking our time and enjoying each little stop. After our productive day, we headed back to the campsite. We spent the evening relaxing in the trailer, playing a few rounds of Phase 10, Uno, Rummy, and Yahtzee. The sunset that evening was just as beautiful, and we spent some time watching it while enjoying our games.
The next two days were a bit more relaxed. We got up a little later and spent the time cleaning, doing chores, working on blogs, and editing the photography from our last stop. In between those tasks, we played card games, board games, and enjoyed outdoor games. It was nice to have a break from all the hikes and adventures and just enjoy the peace and quiet. We also went for family walks, rode bikes around the area, and called friends and family to catch up. I spent some time building my new Fast and Furious Lego car sets, which was a fun way to relax and unwind. The days went by quickly as we kept ourselves busy with little activities, but it was the perfect balance of work and play.
On our final morning, we packed up all our things, cleaned the campsite, and got everything ready for the next stop on our journey. Though our time in Bell Fourche was short, it was the perfect chance to rest and recharge before moving on. It wasn’t the most exciting blog post, but I hope you guys enjoyed reading about the simple pleasures of boondocking by the lake. Be sure to keep an eye out for the next one!
