Adventurous Leila

Hello and welcome back to my blog. We were at my dad’s friend’s house for a little over a week and a half. They have about half an acre which is nice because we get to just park in their back yard. They also have some animals like a turkey, two dogs, baby ducks and a ton of chickens. So we get some free eggs and we get to pet cute animals and be with our friends for a week. That is a win in my book, lol.

When we got to their house Mason showed us where to park. Then we set up the trailer and went to say hi to everyone and by everyone I mean Mason, Lindsay who is his wife, Logan and Malcom who are their kids, Masons mom Ann and his niece and nephew Layla and Brendon who are staying for the summer. So there were lots of people to hang out with. After saying hi to everyone we all had dinner and played card games while catching up on what we have all been doing for the past year lol.

The first full two days there were more chill since we had a drive day and we stayed up super late the first night. We mostly just hung out watching movies, playing Super Mario Bros, Uno, Sorry, having nerf gun fights, volleyball and tons more. I think my favorite part of those first two days was getting to go over to their neighbors house and hang out with Jackie, a girl my age. Me, Jackie and Layla are always hanging out together when we are in Michigan and it is so much fun. When we went over there we got to swim and then Jackie’s dad brought out the side-by-side to ride around the woods. It was so much fun because it was already almost dark and in the thick trees it was super dark and he had cool LED lights that changed colors so it just added to the fun. We spent a lot of time riding around in the side-by-side but it ended shortly after we went through a huge mud puddle and got soaked, but it was still definitely worth it lol.

When we got up we packed all our fishing and lake stuff so we could have a lake day together. When we got there it was more than just a lake. It had a playground, bathrooms, picnic tables, fire pits and tons of nice open spots to put chairs and hang out. We had a blast fishing from the boat, paddle boarding on the water, playing football, swimming, tanning and just having so much fun in the sun with our good friends. Later in the day we had a nice little picnic before heading back home to check on all the dogs and call it a day because when you are swimming most of the day it is hard not to be tired, lol.

The next day we had a chill day just hanging out and making good memories. When I got up me and Layla made pancakes for breakfast and then we invited Jackie and her two brothers over to play Super Mario Bros which ended up being an all day thing because we are all super competitive and want to win the round. I think we all had a good couple of hours singing our hearts out to white girl music while screaming at each other to get off the track lol. After playing we watched all the Iron Man movies together while eating popcorn and chitchatting when it was not the cool action parts because who actually watches three whole movies without getting bored at the lame parts when all their friends are over. After our movie marathon we decided to go over to Jackie’s house and play with their new kitties and see the new bunny they got which were all so cute, I was debating stealing all of them. After dinner the parents had a game night while the kids played man hunt and roasted marshmallows by the fire.

When I got up the next morning I made a really cute card to give to Layla for her late birthday party thing me and her did together. I spent the day doing whatever Layla wanted and I think it was super fun. First we made bracelets for each other and ate a ton of yummy snacks. Then we played a million rounds of Uno because we both agree Uno is the best game that is not actually boring lol. Then we went over to Jackie’s and swam, played with the cats, played volleyball, did our nails, went for a walk in the woods behind her house and found a good spot to chill and talk for a while. By the time we came back from the woods it was almost dark and our parents were chitchatting by the fire. We asked if we could all have a sleepover and to our surprise they all said yes, and Mason let us make a huge bed in the living room. We spent most of the night playing tons of card games and board games, having another movie marathon because we love to do those and just chitchatting for hours. I think Layla had an amazing late birthday party thing lol.

After sleeping in pretty late we cleaned up our huge pillow bed and then ate some brunch before I had to get on classes. By the time my classes were done and we were all ready for the day it was past noon so we headed over to Masons friends house for an early Fourth of July party. When we got to their house we walked over to the huge playground to let Logan, Landon and Malcom play but we all ended up playing an intense game of tag and by all I mean all even my dad and Mason joined in. When we walked back to the house they had pizza and popsicles out so of course us kids had to get some. We sat and ate our food while watching the fireworks go off. After the huge fireworks finale we went back to Masons house and headed to bed to get a good nights sleep before the Fourth of July.

The next morning when I got up I ate and did all my chores and schoolwork before going into the house to help Layla do her hair and pick out a cute Fourth of July outfit. By the time we were ready Jackie’s family had already started their BBQ, so we walked across the street with everyone and did tons of things. The first thing we did was take some photos before going swimming. In the pool all of us played tons of water games and just swam around. After swimming we went to my trailer and grabbed a bunch of painting supplies to paint our legs. Which did not end up being just our legs because the boys wanted American flags on their faces and Jackie’s youngest brother wanted a huge turtle covering his whole back, lol. After painting for a while Jackie’s dad took us out on the side-by-side again but this time the muddy puddle was all dried up so no one got wet lol. After everyone got a turn on the side-by-side it was dark so all the dads started setting up fireworks. When the fireworks started it was so pretty and they had so many. It was so cool. I think after the finale Blue was going crazy because he hates fireworks lol. After a super fun Fourth of July with all our friends we helped clean up and went back to the trailer to get some much needed rest for our drive day the following day.

The next morning was filled with packing up and helping clean up one last time before saying our goodbyes and making our way to our next spot.

I think we all had such an incredible time staying at our friends house and getting to make so many amazing memories we will never forget but it is time for us to head to our next spot which is surprise surprise another friends house.
