Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog! We were staying at New River Gorge, West Virginia, for 8 days. It’s a little free campground that has amenities like trash bins, pit toilets, a fire pit, picnic tables, and it’s right on the river so you can do tons of fishing!

The first day we got to the spot, we set up our RV, then walked down to the river to take some photos and just sit and enjoy the beautiful nature. Since we didn’t get to the spot early in the day, we didn’t have a lot of time to sit by the river as we had to make dinner and head to bed because we were all tired from the drive.

The next two days we went on waterfall hikes. The first one was 1.5 miles there and back through all the green trees, right along the river, and all in the shade, basically a perfect hike. After walking for a little while, we made it to the waterfall, and the water was such a clear blue that I couldn’t resist jumping in! I had to walk back to the car soaking wet, but it was definitely worth it, lol. The next hike wasn’t even really a hike since it was just off the road and down a steep hill, but the waterfall definitely made up for it because wow, it was so pretty! We hung out at the waterfall all day swimming, fishing, reading, chatting, and just exploring around the falls. I definitely recommend going on waterfall hikes if you love nature because they’re so breathtaking.

The following day we went to Ace Adventures, a really cool water obstacle course place. They have so many fun obstacles, plus slides and a zip line. They also have a restaurant, bar, snack shack, and tons of chairs and umbrellas to sit and relax. When we got there, we wasted no time getting our wristbands and life jackets before jumping in to do the obstacle course. If you ever go to Ace Adventures, be prepared to fall a lot more than you expect because when the obstacles are wet they get super slippery and really hard to do, but don’t get me wrong, it’s super fun! After a couple of hours in the sun, we walked over to the restaurant and people watched while we ate. After filling our bellies, we went back on the obstacle course for a couple more hours before heading back to the RV to get some much-needed rest after our super fun but exhausting day.

I woke up early the next morning because I wanted to set out my dad’s Father’s Day card before he woke up! When my dad got up, he read his card, and my mom and I made breakfast. When everyone was ready for the day, we got all of our fishing stuff out to have a fishing day on the river since it’s my dad’s favorite thing to do. We spent most of the day at the river fishing, swimming, reading (or at least I was reading lol), and just exploring and enjoying nature. I think we all had an amazing afternoon down by the river, especially my dad, since fishing and family time are his favorite things to do. After we brought all the fishing stuff back to the RV, my dad and I looked for firewood and made a little fire before making dinner. We ended up having T-bone steaks with sweet potatoes and veggies, and apparently my dad and I are super alike because that’s my go-to meal for any special occasion, lol. After our super yummy dinner, we sat by the fire and made s’mores. Then Landon and I got ready for bed while my parents played card games and had some alone time.

The next day was filled with cleaning, school, blogs, and drive day prep, all while my dad had some alone time fishing by the river, lol.

I think we all had an amazing time here at New River Gorge in West Virginia. I hope you get to come to this spot one day since it’s super nice and has the best river! We all enjoyed this spot and had an amazing time fishing and checking out Ace Adventures, but it’s time to move on to our next spot. If you haven’t subscribed to my YouTube channel, go do that! I post different things on there, and I hope to see you in my next blog post!
