Best Campground and Free Things To Do in Quinby – Virginia | Lake Days, Fishing & Crabbing Fun on the Eastern Shore

This is the best campground in Quinby, Virginia because it has so many fun things to do like fishing, crabbing, paddling, and all of the amenities included. The campground had some great amenities like bathrooms, showers, a dump station, water, electric hookups, picnic tables, fire pits, volleyball, basketball, mini golf, a dock/pier, boat ramp, cabins to rent out, and a cabin with tons of games such as air hockey, pool, puzzles, bracelet-making stuff, coloring books, tons of books, a TV, and a couch.

The first day we didn’t really do much, we just set up and sat in the nice air conditioning, as it was really hot out.

The next morning, I made coffee, did school and chores, then went for a bike ride around the campground with my little brother. When we got back from the bike ride, I chitchatted with the people next to us. Later that afternoon, we made some lunch and yummy snacks and went over to the dock to fish. We spent a couple of hours at the dock fishing and playing pool in the cabin. Sadly, we didn’t catch anything, but it was still fun to go fishing. When we got back to the RV, I finished up some blogs and helped Landon build his Technic LEGO car. Before bed, we went over to the basketball court so Landon could ride his bike and hang out with all the younger kids.

The next day we mostly did the same thing. After school and chores, we went over to the dock, but this time we fished and tried out crabbing which was super hard since we were using kid nets and buckets, lol. We spent most of the day over at the dock and in the cabin playing games and doing the activities there. We had an amazing time crabbing. Even though we didn’t catch much and they kept falling out, it was still a fun experience, and we were excited to try again tomorrow. After hours of fun in the sun, we went back to the RV and hung out with the kids parked next to us. We went for walks, played basketball, volleyball, and rode bikes all around the campground. We ended the night with card games and a yummy dinner.

Apparently, we love to have beach days because we had ANOTHER one but at a different part of the beach. Sadly, we didn’t stay long because the tide was out, it was super muddy, and there were tons of hermit crabs, lol. But we did stay long enough for Landon to build tons of sandcastles. After our failed beach day, we went back to the RV to get some water before going on a walk to pick up our packages. We thought it was going to be a short little walk through the grass, but no it was a long walk, and we had to run most of the way as it was infested with ticks! At least it was really pretty, with lots of wildflowers and tons of tall, gorgeous trees. When we made it to the cabins/office, we met a worker, and she told us all about the town, the campground, and cool places to check out while we were there. After getting our package, we decided to walk along the road instead of through the tick forest, lol. It was a nice, peaceful walk, as it wasn’t a busy road just for people staying in the campground. On our way back to the RV, we saw tons of geese, which was cool. When we finally made it back to the RV, we made dinner and got ready for bed.

The following day I got up, did my schoolwork, blogs, photography, and then caught up with my friends and family before going to the dock again to go crabbing. This time around we got 4 to 5 crabs, but they were still little guys, so we didn’t end up keeping them. Still, we had fun catching them! Sadly, there’s not a lot to say about this day it was mostly like the rest, and I’m sure you can tell we love the beach, lol.

We had an amazing time here in Virginia. I hope one day you can go there too! Thank you so much for reading my blog I hope you enjoyed it. Make sure to keep an eye out for my next one, and if you haven’t already, make sure to check out my YouTube channel (Adventurous Leila) and subscribe!
