Hello everybody! We stayed at our family’s new house in South Carolina for six weeks. They have an old farmhouse on seven acres with two ponds, three sheds (one turned into a chicken coop), a basketball court, and tons of sunny spots for friends to park. For people who are new here, Tom is my uncle and Delmara is my aunt, and they have three kids: Juliette, Noah, and Elijah.

When we first arrived, we got all set up, took some showers, then hung out with our family. Since it was already getting late, we started to make dinner. We were all excited to have a big family dinner at their new house, but to our surprise, the power went out, so we had to cook and eat inside the RV. What a great start to our six weeks there, lol. Just because the power went out didn’t mean we didn’t have a good time. We played card games and chit-chatted for hours before heading to bed.

In the morning, we got all packed up and ready to make our way to the zoo. We were going to meet up with some friends while we were there too! After an hour drive, we finally made it to the zoo and ate some lunch before making our way in. We spent almost all day at the zoo just walking around and looking at all the animals. It’s crazy how many exotic species they had there! I think my favorite part was seeing the otters play and just getting to spend time with family and friends. After our amazing time at the zoo, we stopped at Trader Joe’s to get some groceries. Then we went back home, and I spent the rest of the night hanging out while my parents worked on projects.

One sunny morning, we decided to head out to a strawberry patch, and it turned into such a fun time! They had tons of other activities too; like slides, a bouncy pad, merry go round, a slingshot that shoots stuff across the lake, basketball, swings, a sandbox and some farm animals you can pet. They also had a little store where they sell delicious strawberry smoothies, the best chocolate milk on earth, honey, and tons of other yummy stuff. After everyone got baskets, we split into groups and picked all the juiciest, plump, and delicious-looking strawberries we could find. We had tons of fun picking them and eating some as we went. We weren’t supposed to eat them, but how could we resist a freshly picked strawberry? When we were all done, we went down the slide a couple of times which was a bad idea because you couldn’t stop and would go flying into the dirt, lol.

Three of the days there were spent celebrating Noah’s and our friend Piper’s birthdays. For Noah’s birthday, we had a little celebration with us and our travel friends, the Leonards. We gave him his presents, but I think Uncle Tom beat us all he got him and his siblings dirt bikes that they’d been wanting for a while now! Then, since most kids want to have a big 13th birthday party with their friends, he invited us and all of his friends to watch the Minecraft movie. I think we all had a fun time doing both things, and I think it’s good to have a day of just family and close friends for a little celebration, and then a big party with everyone too! For Piper’s birthday, she spent it playing with all the littles and having a blast with them. But that’s not all we couldn’t forget to sing her happy birthday and eat ice cream all together.

Easter morning started with bright colors, laughter, and baskets waiting to be filled! When we got up, we had some family time in the RV doing a little egg hunt and opening our baskets. In mine and Landon’s baskets were tons of candy, cute little mugs, art projects, and fun little activities. But my favorite was the pair of boots I’ve been wanting that were sitting next to the basket! After some family time, we went into the house and did another egg hunt this time with the boiled eggs we colored the night before, lol. After we found all the eggs, we made and ate a big breakfast before getting ready for church. Church was a really nice time and I’m glad we got to go, because as full time travelers, it’s hard to go to church every Sunday. Easter isn’t just about getting candy or running around looking for eggs. The best part is the family time we get together, slowing down and making memories. And more than that, it’s really about celebrating what Easter means in Christianity and remembering Jesus and everything the day stands for. I hope you guys had an amazing Easter filled with love, joy, happiness, laughter, and all the things that make you happy.

We did so much more here like going to the boys’ basketball games, doing bake sales, baking for the bake sales, having tons of family time, helping build a chicken coop, doing tons of projects on our RV, doing photography and videography, going to homeschool groups, seeing friends, going for hikes/walks, and tons more. Make sure to keep an eye out for part two of this blog where my grandparents come and visit!
