Lake P – Florida | Murals, Caladium Fields & Scenic Lakes

February 13, 2025 through February 20, 2025

Hello everyone! We were at Lake P for eight days. It’s a boondocking spot that has water spigots, fire pits, picnic tables, bathrooms, a pavilion, a couple hiking trails, and tons of space for trailers. When we arrived, two of our friends were already there. After we got camp all set up, we hung out with our friends while we waited for Tom and Delmara to show up. It was already dark by the time they showed up and they were exhausted from their long drive, so they set up and headed to bed.

The following morning was Valentine’s Day! I got up, made coffee, cleaned the house a little, and finished my classes before hanging out. Two more of our bus friends came right as everyone was doing arts and crafts and handing out their cards. We spent most of our day hanging out, playing board games, doing arts and crafts, going for walks, and tons more. Later that night, the kids made dinner for the adults and in return we got to have a pizza party! We all had so much fun playing games, listening to music, and doing karaoke.

The next morning we packed up stuff to go paddle boarding at Silver Springs. When we arrived, our friends plus family had already made it and were already starting to get ready. We ended up doing the five-mile spring that led you through beautiful scenery. Normally there were monkeys, alligators, and manatees that were all over, but sadly I didn’t see any. The springs were gorgeous as the water was crystal clear and there were beautiful trees surrounding each side of the springs! It was pretty easy as you could just float along while listening to music, and the best part was a lot of the people didn’t do the long one, so we had most of the springs to ourselves. After hours of paddle boarding, we packed up and went home. When we got home, we did a collab meal before crashing out.

The next two days we stayed at camp and hung out by the fire, did collab meals, went on the hiking trails, played card games, watched movies, rode bikes, played foursquare and tons more!

The following morning we got up early to go paddle boarding at Rainbow Springs. This time it was just us and our family. When we got there, we pumped up the paddle boards, packed snacks and drinks before setting off into the springs. We paddled around for a while and even found a spot that looked like the Bahamas, lol. After exploring the bigger spring, we went through the trees and explored a smaller spring. It was super pretty as it was so green and the water was so blue but crystal clear at the same time! We had fun swimming, listening to music, and exploring the springs. After a couple hours we had to make our way back, which was hard as the current was not on our side. When we finally made it out of the springs, we headed home.

The following day was our last full day so we all packed up for our drive and of course we made our last day count with each other as we weren’t going to see some of the people for a while. We all had an amazing time here at Lake P. I hope you guys enjoyed my blog, I’ll see you in the next one.

Love your blogs! Question for you: do your dabbled boards blow up & what size/length are they?

    Thanks, Janine
