Phoenix

Hello and welcome back, we’re staying at my grandparents house for 18 days! Our time in Arizona was pretty packed as there were tons of birthdays, my cousin’s softball games and tournaments, my photography classes and photo shoots, seeing family, friends and prepping the RV for the Baja.

The first birthday was my grandma Renés, we started the day by cleaning her house. We then stopped at the store for snacks as we were spending the day at my cousin’s softball tournament. When we got to the game my aunt asked the coach if I could sit in the dugout to take photos for the team. The coach was thrilled because they have never had a personal photographer at the game. I had a great time watching the game and shooting for them and even got to learn half their chants. After the game we headed home and had a little get together with family and had a delicious Mexican feast to celebrate Grandma.

The following day was my Oma Claudia’s birthday, so my family and my Uncle Matthew went over to her house to have lunch and celebrate her birthday. We had lots of great quality time together and ate delicious food and cake. Afterwards we stopped by my dad’s friend’s house to go swimming and hang out for the evening.

We were so happy that we were able to be in Phoenix for my Uncle Matthew and his girlfriend Raina’s gender reveal. We were stoked to have another boy adding to the family in March. Also while we were in town my cousin from Germany flew in so we had a few slumber parties at my grandma’s house. It was so much fun because my two other cousins Kyah and Airalyn were also there so the four of us watched movies, played tag, rode our bikes to the park, and Hannah even helped me do a R.I.P. to my 30’s photo shoot for my TT’s birthday.

Since we will be celebrating the holidays and our birthdays down in the Baja, my mom invited some family over for a small early birthday celebration for Landon and I. The party was super fun getting to have our family together and even my Uncle Tom and family from Germany got to be there. We did dinner, cake and opened presents. It was really nice getting to celebrate with family since the last several birthdays we have been out of state.

Our last few days in Phoenix were spent with family celebrating the wonderful life of Opa. His celebration of life was beautiful. We went to his local church where Oma did an amazing ulage, heard lots of wonderful stories of his life, sang worship and prayed together, then enjoyed a delicious meal and even laughed at the silly memories with Opa. Opa was a huge impact to the whole family and I am so blessed to have had him not only in my life but also as a leader in my faith.

We had a wonderful time seeing all our family and so much to celebrate but it was time to get back on the road and head to Mexico.
