Hello everyone we are in Salisbury, North Carolina at our very first event, Help a Vet shine. It’s at the fairgrounds where everyone is able to camp out for three nights. There are tons of vendors, bounce houses and fun activities planned. Once we finished setting up we walked around to meet the others and I got to tour one of the Skoolies. Then we checked out the vendors’ tents before calling it a night.

In the morning I went over to the other campers and met a girl my age named Riley. Her and I had a blast hanging out all day and she even introduced me to her pet fox. Her grandma had a golf cart that she let us ride around. We basically rode it all day long and when the sun started going down we made some popcorn and parked the golf cart where we could sit on it to watch the wrestling match. It was a lot fun but was so fake. After the wrestling match they had live music, while watching the music we met a really nice lady named Lori who had an awesome wood shop. She told us if we came over to her booth in the morning she would teach us how to build a gum ball machine out of wood and mason jars. Since we had another busy day ahead of us my mom told me it was time to head in for bed.

I woke up excited to go build our gum ball machines, little did I know it was going to be an all day thing. It was fun and rewarding once we finally finished them. In between making them Riley and I rode the golf cart around, watched more of the shows and even did a Halloween costume contest. I dressed up as a pink cowgirl, Landon was woody, and Blue dog was the Chick Fil A cow with the “EAT MOR CHIKIN” sign. They had three different divisions; a young children, mid range and a pet contest… and guess what, we each won! I won the older kids, Landon won the young kids and Blue won the pet. It was so exciting and we won a bunch of goodies. A little girl was bummed she didn’t win so I decided I would give her and another little boy some of my prizes since we really don’t have much room in the RV anyways. After the contest we walked around and did a trunk or treat at each of the vendors before watching a car derby. We were all starting to get hungry so we went over to where some of the campers were doing a community chili night for dinner. After dinner Riley and I played with my new nerf guns for a little bit, then went over to our RV and hung out until almost midnight when my parents said it was time for bed.

The last morning we woke up and apparently everyone is early risers because most people were already gone. We finished packing up and got on the road to our second stop in North Carolina. See you soon!
