New York, New Jersey and Delaware

Since we decided to prolong our time in Vermont we had to have three back to back drive days and decided to just stay at elks lodges to break up our drives.

Our first stop was at an elks lodge in New York just outside of Albany. The lodge backed up to a high school so we got woken up bright an early to start another drive day. The second night we stayed at an Elks Lodge in New Jersey right across the PA boarder. My dad went to Philidalphia to have Philly cheesesteaks with a buddy. Since my dad was gone we decided to order pizza and have it delivered to the RV door in the elks lodge parking lot. While we ate our pizza we watched the movie Matilda before heading to bed for yet another drive day the following morning.

We made it to a HipCamp in Delaware where we stayed for only two nights. We stayed on a lovely farm and parked right next to a pond in a big grassy field. The first day there we went into town to pick up Landon’s birthday present, a new bike. Getting him his bike turned out to be an all day event as we had to go to multiple stores before finding the one we wanted. Since we were out for so long unexpectedly we ended up stopping at Chick Fil A for lunch, Landon and I were so excited! We finally made it back to the hipcamp just before dark and Landon got to ride his new bike for a little bit.

The next day we just hung out at the farm all day. The owner has a bunch of barn cats and one of them loved us. I got a little yarn ball for him and he played with it for about two hours. We fished the day away and caught so many little yellow perch, sometimes as soon as the lure hit the water you would hook a fish instantly. Even though we only had a few days here we really enjoyed our time and loved having a small break from our long drive south.
