New Brunswick Round Two

We stayed in Saint-Camille New Brunswick for only a few days, our spot was really nice right on the beach. We arrived late in the evening just before sunset and the view was amazing. Since we had such a busy time in PEI we decided to spend the next day hanging out at home. I built a really cool fort along the dunes out of rocks, seaweed, driftwood and treasures I found along the beach. I stacked all the rocks up to form stone walls in front, then used the drift wood across the top for a roof structure. Lastly I collected dried seaweed to line the roof. I found an old lobster trap and used it for a couch in my fort. It turned out really awesome and I hope other kids get to enjoy it when they visit the beach. That evening we had a bonfire on the beach while we roasted marshmallows and watched the sunset.

The next day we headed to Kouchibouguac National Park, where of course our first stop was the visitor center to get our packets before going on some hikes. First we took a beautiful boardwalk down to the beach. It was really short but went over the salt marshes before you arrived at the white sandy beach. Since it was a hot day the beach was packed so we only stayed for a few hours. The next hike we did was the bog hike, you hike along the bog to a look out where we hoped to see some moose but instead we just got eaten alive from mosquitoes. I wouldn’t recommend doing a bog hike at dusk unless you have lots of bug spray and layers.

Our last day my dad went fishing while I caught up on school and my mom cleaned and prepped for our drive day. Although we only spent a few days in New Brunswick this time it was still a lot of fun and so beautiful.

Your fort is still there!!! It has even survived the few storms we had. I still see it almost every day 🙂
