West Virginia

There is a city park in St. Alban, West Virginia with hook ups and a dump that allows you two stay two nights for free. I loved it there because not only did it have hookups and a bathroom but also a playground. My brother and I played and played, there was so many kids all day. There was this girl, I forget her name but we were both 12 and she came back each day we were there to come see me. She gave me her phone number so I text her but she never responded. The following day when she came back to the park I told her I sent her a text and she responded “a text, text wont work its a house phone.” I had no idea what that meant and later that night I had to ask my mom why I couldn’t text a house phone. She had a good laugh at it. Since we were only there for two nights my parents pretty much just let us kids play the entire time we were there.

From there we camped along Cranberry River for four nights. Our spot was right along the water and we had a nice sandy beach area to play. We mostly hung out at camp playing by the river, fishing and riding our bikes but one day we did go on a nice little hike. I would not call it an easy hike though because you had to hike up 400 stairs and it was about a mile each way. It was very pretty with crystal clear water. Along the hike had three waterfalls, the first one was about 30ft, the second was 42ft and the last was 63ft. When we got to the bottom of the falls there was a mom there with her four daughters. They told us they owned a farm near by with lots and lots of goats. They were all very nice and fun to chit chat with.

Originally we planned to go to one more spot in West Virginia however we switched our plans and decided to go back to an area in Virginia that we loved last time we were in this area. I’ll tell you all about it in my next blog.
