Kentucky part one

We made it to our 32nd state along our travels, Kentucky!! I am so thrilled to be in Kentucky because the winter is finally over and it is warm enough to wear my bathing suit and play in the water. We stayed in another dispersed campsite at Wilson Creek Recreation Area. We had a small creek that flowed along our RV with a tiny tiny waterfall, Landon loved throwing his cars down it.

We did a day trip over to Mammoth Caves National Park. The cave looked so tiny from the outside but once you are in it opens up and is really big. I took lots of pictures in the cave and even got two tiny bats. they were so cute and fluffy, I could just kiss their little faces off. The cave was awesome but unfortunately, the guided tours were all sold out for the day so we were only able to do the self guided and weren’t able to see some of the other discoveries.

Since there was a lake minutes from our campsite we drove over and spent the day fishing, Kayaking and playing in the water. I had fun fishing but the only thing i caught was a stick fish haha. Later in the day another family showed up with their kids so I got to swim and play with them. Once the sun started to set the bugs started coming out so we decided to pack up and head back to the RV.

My mom had a hair appointment in Elizabethtown so my dad planned a fun day for us kids. He found this hike called The Giants Trail where they made giants out of old wood. They named them and told a story about each of the giants. After we explored the cute giants hike my dad took us to this huge playground that had at least 15 slides. My brother and I loved it and played for hours. When we were heading back to the RV my parents decided to stop at this cute country restaurant. Everything we ordered tasted delicious but my favorite was the mashed potatoes and gravy.

On our way to our next destination we stopped by my moms great uncle Bob’s house. He’s 92 but seems to be in great health still. My mom says he reminds her so much of her grandpa (his brother). We had a wonderful visit with him and his wife Charlotte before getting back on the road. Keep an eye out for Kentucky part two that ill be posting in the next week or so.
