Hi guys, We spent just under two weeks at Meriwether Lewis Campground. Since the weather was hit or miss we decided to make the most out of the days the sun was shining. We went on a short hike down the road from the campground. During the hike I found an empty Turtle shell that I ended up giving to Red to put on his rig! After the hike we had a picnic along the creek where I thought it would be fun to make boats out of twigs, leaves, and whatever we could find laying around. I named mine the bloody pioneer because I sliced my finger in the process of making it. We called my dads the Huckleberry Fin Raft and Landon named my moms Landons boat, he’s so funny. Dads won the race literally by a twig.

Another day my dad found three waterfall hikes near by that we were able to do all in one day. The first two were great but nothing interesting happened, however the last hike was one for the books! When we got to the waterfall I seen multiple bright and colorful rainbows. While we were there I noticed a vine hanging over the creek that was literally calling my name to swing on it. When I started swinging on it I heard a cracking sound so I hurried and hopped off before it snapped. In the process my foot got caught in the rocks and I slipped and fell into the water. My jacket got all wet so I took it off and went to lay it on a tree when I noticed a little spider. I hurried and yanked my jacket back to pull it off but to my surprise the whole tree wanted to come with it. The tree flew towards me making the spider fly right onto me, I screamed and we all started to laugh. My brother decided he wanted to come over to where I was and ended up slipping in the water as well. It was a good thing that was the last hike of the day since we were both wet and cold.

After we left Meriwether Lewis Campground we stayed at an elks lodge just outside of Nashville. We did a day trip into the city to explore downtown. There is so many colorful and bright signs everywhere and apparently they really love boot barns because every store was either a boot barn or a bar. As we walked down the main strip we stopped at a restaurant that had live music both upstairs and downstairs. I had such a great time dancing and one guy was playing this huge base cello. He was very entertaining because he played it over his head, spun it around and at one point he even sat on it while playing. I had such a good time exploring and loved that I was able to practice my photography there.

The next day we met up with my dads friend Curtis and his daughter Ally in Franklin TN. Ally had so much planned, First we started the day at the Factory. Its an old Factory that was converted into a mall. We got some donuts, coffee and I got a chai latte. After the factory we went to two civil war sites and learned all about the Battle Of Franklin. Apparently it was a brutal fight that only lasted about 5 hours but had around 10,000 deaths. So sad! Since we were so hungry after hours of exploring we got a bite to eat at this fried chicken place. It was really good but I should not have gotten a kids meal. It was so small that I felt like I hadn’t even eaten when I was finished. Lastly, we stopped by a playground for a bit before calling it a day.

Tennessee was so pretty even though the trees were still bare. We had lots of fun exploring new places we’ve never been to and look forward to many more adventures to come in our next destination, Kentucky!
